Clinton endorses Sen. Bennet's opponent
Source: The Hill

Former President Bill Clinton broke with the White House Tuesday and endorsed Sen. Michael Bennet's (D-Colo.) primary challenger.

Clinton sent out a fundraising appeal for former state House Speaker Andrew Romanoff (D), who's challenging Bennet in the Aug. 10th primary.

"We need Andrew's leadership in Washington -- especially now, when so many Americans are losing so much," the former president wrote in his pitch to Romanoff's supporters. "'It is not enough,' as Andrew put it at the Colorado Democratic Assembly last month, 'to put a President of real talent and vision and leadership in the White House if the same qualities are not matched at the other end of Pennsylvania Avenue.'"

That was the closest Clinton came to referencing White House-backed Sen. Michael Bennet (D-Colo.), who Romanoff is challenging for the nomination.

6. Robb - maybe you missed my update
But it is confirmed that Romanoff was once DLC, but has abandoned the third way for progressivism after seeing what has happened during the Chimp years. Too much corruption within the US Senate and House and definetely needs a cleanup. That is what Andrew Romanoff is there for.

8. I did, I guess.
Point me to it if you get a chance. Glad to hear it -- and I'll say again, either candidate is a win for CO.

5. That is the Bill I know and respect.
He wisely chose to back the correct candidate, not the unelected one. That will boost Andrew's profile and pour in $$ for the primary/GE for TV ads.
