President Obama target game gets feds' attention

The Secret Service is investigating a Hellertown amusement company's use of a target-shooting game that challenged players to hit the heart and head of an image resembling President Barack Obama.

Irvin Good Jr., president of Goodtime Amusements, said Wednesday he didn't imean to offend anyone by offering "Alien Attack" at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Big Time fair in Roseto. But the game sparked a complaint.

"I guess we made an error in judgment, and we apologize for that," said Good, who has had the game for about six weeks. "I voted for the man. It wasn't meant to be him. If they took it that way, we apologize."

Cindy Wofford, special agent in charge of the Philadelphia office of the Secret Service, said her agents are looking into the game and will determine if there were any direct or indirect threats to the president. They will share their findings with the U.S. attorney's office.

"We take these kinds of things very seriously," Wofford said.

6. How Long

One story said April and in another the ahole owner said he had only one other complaint in 6 weeks. Scary part is that they weren't getting complaints so a helluva lot of people saw no problem in shooting an image of the president or a black man!

10. Owner is a registered Repub says he voted for Obama

After pictures of the carnival target appeared on the Internet Tuesday, criticism came in from near and far. By Wednesday, scores of Web postings denounced Good, and some of his Northampton County neighbors were voicing anger.

"He should be put out of business," Esther M. Lee, president of the Bethlehem chapter of the NAACP, told The Inquirer on Wednesday. "We shouldn't go around targeting the president of the United States as though he were some dumbbell."


Good, a registered Republican, said he voted for Obama as "the most logical choice" in 2008. Obama's performance has been "adequate under the situation of what he came in under," he added.

"I wouldn't want his job. That's for sure," he said. "Maybe he wouldn't want mine either, right now."
