HONOLULU -- A federal jury in Hawaii today convicted a former B-2 stealth bomber engineer of selling military secrets to China.

Noshir Gowadia was convicted on 14 counts, including conspiracy, violating the arms export control act and money laundering. He was found not guilty on three counts of communicating national defense information.

Gowadia, who has been in federal custody since October 2005, faces life in prison when he is sentenced in November.

The decision came after six days of deliberations at a federal court in Honolulu.

Prosecutors accused Gowadia of helping China design a stealth cruise missile. They alleged he pocketed $110,000 over two years for his exhaust nozzle design.

1. Stealth tech seems really easy.

I would guess it is done by layers, that let most radar pass and absorb some. That way the radar bounces back and forth between the layers, and each time it bounces some of it is absorbed.

ii would guess there is also an effect like tinted mirrors, where the radar goes in past first layers, then what tries to bounce out gets reflected back to get absorbed some more.

Stealth tech does not seem that difficult.

Then there is the shape of the plane and approach vectors making the directional reflection that does occur most effective.

And that is not a secret, since it is pretty simple to think of such a thing, and was discussed on many tv shows when they mentioned layers of composite materials and things like that.
