Man shocked by police Taser dies
Valerie Olander / The Detroit News

Livonia -- A Livonia man who hit his head after being shocked with a police Taser has died after being removed from life support, a family member said this morning.

Michael Ford, 50, of Livonia was taken to Beaumont Hospital following the incident at an apartment complex at Eight Mile and Purlingbrook.

Ford's cousin Ewayne Harrell said Ford had more injuries than falling and hitting his head after being jolted by a stun gun.

"(The police) beat him up. He had a ruptured spleen, a cracked pelvis and cracks in the front and back of his head. I don't see how you can get all that from a Taser," he said.

:sarcasm:

Murderers. They beat him to death. Some how I knew this would be a black man.

from the 1st guy who died by taser:
"From The Detroit News: http://www.detnews.com/article/20100822/METRO/8220316/1409/Ypsilanti-man-dies-after-sheriff-s-deputy-used-stun-gun#ixzz0xdGBJJxI"

"He was then transported by ambulance to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital for treatment, standard protocol whenever a person is Tasered, according to the sheriff's department."

Isn't that nice, the police are using a weapon on you that you post facto will need to go to the hospital for.

I had a problem with a boy friend about 4 years ago - he was peaceful but wouldn't leave outside my apartment, and was explaining to the cops that he just wanted to talk to me - the cops were surrounding him with tazers in hand holding them behind their backs - not even offering him the chance of arrest - they were simply going to taze this person who was disagreeing. I yelled to him what was happening and he agreed to leave so barely avoided being tazed. That's the reason I'm really against tazers, I saw two cops about to use them on someone who wasn't violent at all - just calmly disagreeing.

That incident is also why I'm afraid of being at protests. I know how fast and unprovoked a cop will taze someone now. All you have to do is disagree with them - calmly!

6. How many people have to die before Tasers are declared lethal?
I mean, you can survive gunshots, too, but that doesn't make a gun any less lethal.

8. So they beat the shit out of him and then Lied about it?
Wow. That would be so unlike the police. They never, ever beat anyone up and then lie to cover it up. :sarcasm:

:(
