Ahmed Sharif Describes Alleged Hate Crime Attack (VIDEOS)

Ahmed Sharif, the New York City cab driver stabbed after allegedly being asked if he was Muslim, described the violent attack to local TV news reporters, saying he pleaded with his attacker not to kill him.

"He start yelling at like 39th Street and 3rd Avenue," Sharif told the local ABC affiliate. "'This is a checkpoint, this is checkpoint, motherfucker, I have to put you down.'"

"I saw the knife coming through my neck right here," Sharif told FOX, showing his wounds. "Once I see his face, is so much anger and mad at me, I don't know, and hate. He have to kill me. And I ask him, 'Please don't kill me, why you have to kill me, what I did?'"

"Then again he hit me, then I'm trying to fighting for life, protect myself, but still he cursing and yelling," Sharif added.

3. What can we do to help this man?

I use cabs all the time, and while many of the drivers appear to be Hindu or Sikh, they are frequently what we call in Canada "visible minorities." They have been uniformly gracious and considerate to me. Now I'm afraid that they're going to look at me as a threat (sadly, I don't blame them).

This is getting very, very ugly. I think the ADL should man up and speak out about this.

How about get FOX news to stop creating people who stab cab drivers because they've been fired up with news stories about mosques at "ground zero" when there is no mosque at "ground zero" just a rec center a few blocks away! :mad:

6. People are being dehumanized by the spin masters

The RW spin machine is dehumanizing people because of their religion, making them fair game for the distorted hatred of their followers. This cab driver is a HUMAN BEING! It makes me ill that people can be made to be targets for no reason by media manipulation. How stupid to some people have to be?????????

This cab driver isn't willing to kill because of his devotion to his religion, but obviously there are Americans willing to kill because they wish to be devoted to lies and hatred.
