Palin's full speaking contract revealed
Source: CNN

So just what does it take to get Sarah Palin to speak at your fundraising gala?

A "deluxe" hotel suite, a first class ticket or a private jet ("Lear 60 or larger"), pre-selected audience questions, and "bendable" straws – not to mention the $75,000 in cash.

That's according to Palin's speaking contract with Cal State Stanislaus – ordered to be released by a California judge this week after the state school refused to make the document public last June.

California Attorney General Jerry Brown began an investigation in April into whether school officials were trying to avoid public disclosure laws by discarding documents. A state senator asked for the probe after he said the school refused to turn over some requested records concerning the event.

...

Much of the contents of the contract had already been revealed: the school had previously disclosed how much it paid the former Alaska governor and portions of the contract were discovered in a dumpster by students last April.

Still, the document provides a revealing picture of the types of demands an A-list speaker can make, and serves as a reminder that no detail is too small to omit - from the lighting ("should be at a comfortable, but appropriate production level"), to the water ("unopened bottled still"), to the lectern ("no plexiglass or thin lectern please").

3. Long-term this buffoon is serving a useful purpose to sink the Republican
Party as a credible force in American politics. That is the one consolation prize from her divisive, self-promoting antics. It may take a few more cycles to unfold, but the GOP is trapped on a dead-end track.

8. Sarah Palin = GRIFTER
Audience who pays to see her = IDIOTS.

She'll keep taking your money, people. She'll say what she knows you want to hear, and she'll take you for every cent you have. She'll pretend to care about you until you stop paying, and then she's outa there.

What is the saying about a fool and his or her money?

14. A lot of it's laughable, but I'm sure as a woman she has reasons for not wanting "thin" podiums
or plexiglas. The bendable straws are a gem, however. That's a hoot. And the pre-selected audience questions... what kind of politician is she? One who simply cannot think on her feet? So how does she make decisions in a group situation where things are dynamic? What if she's called upon to make a quick decision critical to the nation as "president" (not possible, seriously)?

15. Bendable straws = won't smear lipstick
Many people who bleach their teeth also won't drink any "staining" liquid (coffee, tea, sodas,) without a straw.

The pre-selected audience questions are the killer here, though. In other words, she can't think on her feet, and this will REALLY trip her up if she thinks she's running in 2012.

21. Have you seen her stand there and take unscripted questions from the press or the public live?
I haven't, but I have seen all our Presidents do it. Presidents get their share of pre-selected questions but they also have to answer questions off the cuff.

The fact is Palin doesn't know enough about the issues to be able to do that - she has to recite canned answers written for her by someone else.
