Karl Rove-linked group plans $10 million get-out-the-vote push
Source: USA Today

The conservative group American Crossroads said today it will spend more than $10 million to turn out voters in November's high-stakes congressional elections.

The group, which was created with help from former President George W. Bush's political adviser Karl Rove, will target voters in eight states -- Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Kentucky, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire and Washington state. Hotly contested Senate races are underway in those states.

American Crossroads has called its effort Mobilizing Our Voters to End Reckless Spending or MOVERS.

'We have an unprecedented opportunity to restore balance and fiscal responsibility to Washington this fall," Steven Law, the group's CEO, said in a statement. "To do that, American Crossroads will conduct an intensive turnout effort and work closely with other independent partners on mobilizing our voters to end reckless spending."

1. Well, he won't need to spend it Alaska. The Dems are getting crushed in every race.
The only ones that will keep their seats are the uncontested candidates.

Thanks a lot national party for making the word Democratic Party a dirty word with your spineless bullshit.

2. And this is why you don't give guys like Rove a break
when you've got them by the balls. He should have been indicted and convicted by now.

3. Precisely. Meanwhile, Obama has so disappointed his base that
there is very little left to his GOTV campaign. Democrats have courted money instead of voters and are about to find out that they need an enthusiastic base.

With Democrats like Chris Dodd, Max Baucus and Nelson obstructing reform, what differenced do the obstructionists on the Republican side need?
o o
I note that on every issue, financial reform, health care and every other issue, there are a couple of Democrats who stand with Republicans to obstruct progress -- every single issue. How convenient for DLCers.

The Cat Food Commission with Bruce Reed, Alan Simpson and the like on it is the last straw. I certainly have no plan to go out and walk the streets and stand in the cold to get Democrats elected if they can't enact a progressive agenda when they are in the majority. Democrats in Congress have a few weeks to get Democrats on Main Street to the polls. I'd like to see some action, some measure that isn't half-baked.

to Democratic Advocacy Groups, get out the vote groups, etc. Do the same or we face an ugly return to the Bush years.
