GOP claims Iraqi success despite Obama
Source: CNN

Washington (CNN) - In twin speeches laced with heavy doses of "I-told-you-so," Republican leaders in the House and Senate tried to convince voters Tuesday that America's success in Iraq is not because of President Barack Obama, but in spite of him.

"Some leaders who opposed, criticized, and fought tooth-and-nail to stop the surge strategy now proudly claim credit for the results," said House Minority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio, in prepared remarks for the American Legion convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

"One lawmaker rejected the idea that the surge would reduce violence in Iraq, saying - and again I'm quoting - 'in fact, I think it will do the reverse.'"

The lawmaker Boehner is referring to is then-Sen. Barack Obama. Boehner aides said he was reluctant to criticize the commander-in-chief by name in front of a roomful of veterans, but insisted it would be clear who he was talking about.

2. They can't claim "victory" or "success" until they first accept responsiblity...
For this thoroughly fucked up war that should have never been in the first place.

GAWD these freaks are a nuisance!

6. heres what the dumbshits dont realize or will never admit
that all of us troops over there in the first year could not help but realize we need MANY MORE TROOPS. Commanders of most areas and many of the FOBs there were asking for additional BATTALIONS EACH! Sum it up and collectively commanders were asking for 50-60 thousand more troops.

All the back in 2004. How long did it take Bushco to realize this?

Of course the surge worked, more troops on the ground is PART OF what was needed all along.

11. In there eyes
it was a great success, they and there friends made billions off shotty projects and they caused mass chaos, the two things republicans enjoy the most.

14. No surprise. Conservatives take what that failed, make it victory
Conservatives take everything that they didn't do or failed at and make it their victory. See: World War 2, Vietnam, or The Cold War being won by some guy just saying, "Tear down the wall."

And "Prof." Glenn Beck accrediting The Civil Rights movement to Religious, Right Wing White People (instead of, I dunno, the people who were actually there protesting Segregation)

But maybe they were right; Operation Iraqi Freedom (From Their Own Oil Profits) was extremely successful.

If not for Fox news,Limbaugh and the rest of the hateful conservatives, America would receive facts from the media and the evil republicans would be harmless.
