Schundler, Christie label each other as dishonest (New Jersey RttT debacle)
Source: The Bergen Record

The dispute between Governor Christie and his fired education chief got more personal Tuesday, when Christie proclaimed the clear message in the dismissal to be “Don’t lie to the governor.”

Christie, speaking at a bill signing Tuesday, did not buy Schundler's account about the presentation but said he had 'great respect' for Schundler.

Ex-commissioner Bret Schundler fought back within hours, saying, “He’s being dishonest about me.”

...snip...

“The governor is embarrassed,” Schundler added. “He looks and blames somebody else. And it’s usually not the misstep, it’s usually the cover-up that gets people in trouble.”

3. I'll go with Schundler. Always had a soft spot for him, since...
he was the only mayor of Jersey City in my memory not to be indicted. And he's a smart guy, not easily making stupid mistakes. Stupid mistakes and bullshit political maneuvers are Christie's forte.

Glad he lost the times he ran for Governor, though, since the guy who once worked for Gary Hart managed to turn wingnut.

He's still a very unusual thing in Joisey politics-- a politician who can be accused of being honest.
