Protesters have said they will disrupt a party to celebrate the launch of Tony Blair's memoirs at the Tate Modern gallery on Wednesday night.

In a statement, the Stop The War campaign said: "This is a big victory for the anti war movement and all those who reject Blair's legacy.
"Stop the War has learned that a party is being hosted at the Tate Modern gallery on the evening of the 8th to celebrate the launch of his memoir 'A Journey'.
"We believe this is a misuse of a respected public institution. It's a stain on the reputation of Tate Modern, to host a gathering of war criminals."

Protests Will Follow Tony Blair Wherever He GoesSTOP THE WAR COALITION
06 September 2010 2010
Stop the War understands that Mr Blair will be launching his book at a
supposedly secret party at the Tate Modern on the evening of 8 September. It is
disgraceful that a public building is being used for this purpose.
Tony Blair is simply running scared as it becomes clear that wherever he goes
he cannot escape protests against his war crimes, which is why he has to hold a
secret event at the Tate Modern.
Artists have already begun contacting the Tate Modern, outraged that it is
being used to promote a war criminal's book.
Stop the war will ensure that there is a demonstration outside the gallery when
the launch party takes place.
Tony Blair cannot go anywhere near the general public without there being
protests and attempts to make a citizen's arrest, as happened in Dublin last
Saturday. He has become a pariah the world over because he is incriminated in
the violation of innumerable international laws, which resulted in the deaths
of hundreds of thousands of Iraqi civilians and 179 British soldiers.
Stop the War will continue to confront Tony Blair whenever he appears in public
until he is held accountable for his crimes.
