Source: The Florida Times-Union

NEW YORK (AP) - CVS Caremark Corp. said Wednesday it will give away up to $5 million in seasonal flu vaccinations to people without health insurance.

The Woonsocket, R.I., company said vouchers for the vaccines will be available at clinics or community health centers starting Sept. 20. Consumers will be able to redeem the vouchers at any of CVS' 7,100 locations and its retail MinuteClinics. The names of the participating clinics will be announced Sept. 20.

2. Have you come to argue science?
There be scientists on this board if you have come to argue science. I am not one and won't pretend to be one. I will also not argue hypothetical hocus-pocus with people who believe that vaccines are of the Devil.

4. I've had CVS Caremark for over a year. They suck. But I'm glad they're pretending to something.
I'm glad those who can't afford flu shots & need them will have them available. That's the only nice thing I can think of to say about them:)

8. I had Caremark for a while too.
The drugs I got from them were supposed to be non-generic. Yet, when I compared them to the real thing, just by weight, the drugs from Caremark were different. When I called them on it, they wanted to know who had prescribed them to me. I wasn't sure why they needed that info, but they refused to tell me. I quit taking the drugs they sent me, because they didn't work. Which was the reason I started looking into them.

I think there may have been a class action against them around that time period.

10. I wrote a few articles on the generic vs. non-generic BS & profits for mail-order pharma
It continues to this day, as evidenced by my last delivery. Basically, they will give you any freakin' thing they can get cheaply, from wherever it may come. The Dr. has to specify on your prescription "non-generic" in order for you to get brand name drugs, which CVS will not reimburse at the same rate. Even if the Dr. does specify that, CVS can come back & say they don't have any available yadda yadda.

I hope you take any drugs you may really need for your own health, but it is a part-time job trying to determine that what we get is reasonably effective & we're properly reimbursed. Best wishes. :hi:

5. I Wish
they'd give away 5 million in useful healthcare. No, I'm not anti-vax, I just think there's about 50 more useful ways to spend healthcare dollars.

7. So is this how it washes away the stains
Of an FTC investigation for drug price fixing?

11. I hope I can get in on this
I have asthma, so I usually get one since I get pneumonia easily (twice in the past five years). I've been wondering how I would manage this year. I'm already skipping one of my asthma meds, so I'm already compromised.

13. Good for CVS
I hope more companies follow their lead and do similar things for the uninsured.
