N.M. Group To Donate Quran For Each 1 Burned
Source: The Denver Channel

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- A New Mexico religious watchdog group says it will send a copy of the Quran to the Afghan National Army for every one that may be destroyed by the pastor of a small Florida church.

Mikey Weinstein, president of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, said Wednesday his group would deliver copies of the Quran to U.S. Gen. David Petraeus for distribution.

Petraeus has condemned plans by Terry Jones, leader of a Gainesville church that espouses anti-Islam philosophy, to burn copies of the Quran on Sept. 11.

6. Christians giving Korans to Afghanis...
Are we sure they won't consider this some sort of insult? What is the etiquette regarding the Koran?

8. Well....you do have the google
So if you're truly curious, it's quite easy to find.

Generally, the rules are: Don't abuse the book, and if it's on a bookshelf it has to be on the highest shelf.

11. Okay ...
I mistook your message. But would a christian be insulted if a muslim gave her/him a Bible?

2. Cool!
I really like that guy -- he has been so outspoken about the institutionalized religious abuse going on in the military.

4. A good gesture, in that case.
Any good "Christian" realises that "penance" will be required here.

5. That's Good, but ...
I would rather see an inter-denominational group standing across the street, burning ten Bibles for every Quran burned.

7. This is a reasoned response to an unreasonable act
I donated ten bucks to these guys, their mission is a good one (freedom FROM religion as well as for it). It goes a long way to balance out the crazies, and I don't think that "Quran ediquette" (if there is such a thing) would be violated by such a well-intentioned gesture.

13. This story has to die
That "banjo player from Deliverance" at Westboro Baptist Church does not need any more attention and neither does this assclown.
