Threatening letter, white powder sent to US Embassy in Tel Aviv

Envelopes containing letter, white powder sent to American, Swedish, Spanish embassies. Some employees placed in isolation.

An envelope containing a threatening letter and suspicious white powder was found Tuesday afternoon at the US Embassy in Tel Aviv.

Similar envelopes were sent to the Swedish and Spanish embassies in the city.

A hazardous material expert said the powder had spilled onto the female employee, but she did not feel any irritation or burning sensation. The powder was sent to the Environmental Protection Ministry for further examination.

1. Meh, the whole white powder thing is so 2001.
Terrorists should get hipper... maybe black powder would be scarier. "Turned out to be pepper."
