Tea Party-Backed Christine O'Donnell Raises Nearly $1M Since Win
Source: ABC News

Tea Party-backed candidate Christine O'Donnell has raised a nearly $1 million online in the time since her surprise victory in Tuesday's Republican Senate primary in Delaware, according to her campaign.

"We're at 99% of our $1,000,000 goal," O'Donnell tweeted Thursday afternoon. "Help push us over the top."

O'Donnell's campaign said in an e-mail that it had raised it had $850,000 as of Wednesday.

"If it proves true that she has raised that kind of money in just a matter of a couple of days, then clearly that's an entirely different story than where she was a couple of weeks ago," said Dave Levinthal, editor of the Open Secrets blog for the Center for Responsive Politics, which analyzes political contributions.

According to the latest Federal Election Commission filings, O'Donnell had, before Wednesday, $20,374 in the bank.

1. Has she been asked to disclose her tax returns or has she already done it.
I read someone, maybe at DU, that she only earned $5800 last year. Is that correct? If it is, how does she live? And this isn't a prying personnel issue. I want to learn how to live on $5800 a year.

9. +1 Watch the polls I would not be surprised if she is
ahead. I think many here on DU surrounded by other Democrats in blue states are way out of touch with the anger in so called fly over country.

26. What I am saying is Democrats in states like
Delaware are out of touch with the political mood in the fly over country. They have no idea how bad it is in places like here in the Ohio valley (Ohio, WV & PA) it is nearly impossible to find anyone that even admits being a Democrat anymore and I think 90% of it comes from the HCR debacle. Governor Ted Strickland is running 17 points behind John Kasich and the only reason I can come up with is that Strickland helped Obama carry Ohio. I'll bet there are a lot more people in Delaware that are pissed off than you may think. That's why the Democrats running for re-election won't touch health care, financial reform or even the GM bailout. The three most notable accomplishments of the administration and everyone is running from them.

6. I'm sure she's writing checks for her rent and overdue bills right now
And maybe even ordering an Ipad. The teabaggers are so easy to con. Being a conservative Republican candidate is a big con game now.

11. I agree
You took the words right out of my mouth! Next, she is going to call into the Dave Ramsey Show and do the "I'M DEBT FREE" scream!!!!!

The Teabaggers really will fall for anything. They're giving a woman who knowingly mismanaged funds even MORE money? Wow...

8. According to a Delaware Republican robocall...
she has been living off funds raised for her previous campaigns.

As for this $1M raised claim... I wouldn't believe anything from her campaign at face value - it could be like Glen Beck's half-million rally attendance (or Bachman's million at the same event). Teabaggers don't much respect things like numbers.

But it's not impossible, either, in this age where the Roberts court throws all the spending rules out the window when it suits them.

These people really scare me, but I dont think that the real main stream america (not fox's so called main stream america) is as stupid as republicans beleave.

22. WAKE UP! VOTE! Hold your nose if you have to, but PLEASE VOTE!
In 2008 McCain unleashed the monstrosity from Wassilla on the American people, and she shows no signs of slowing down her rabid procreative activities. O'Donnell is just the latest of her spawns on the way to Christian Nationalism, preferrably under her rulership. Hell, they've all been "appointed by God" so they have license to do whatever it takes for the cause of Theocracy.

You can be disappointed and angry at this administartion and at Obama and at who/whatever else, but think about the alternative and get motivated to SPEAK OUT and just VOTE.

This is REALITY - look here:

Thank you for listening. :loveya:
