D.C. Cops: Armed Man Shot near Capitol Building
Source: CBS

AP) Authorities in Washington say police shot a man who pointed a gun at them near the U.S. Capitol building, where Congress is based.

U.S. Capitol Police spokeswoman Sgt. Kimberly Schneider says a lookout went out around 5 a.m. Friday for a man with a gun.

Officers later saw the man, who pointed the gun at them. Schneider says the officers opened fire after the man refused to drop his weapon.

The man, whose name has not been released, was brought to a hospital. His condition is not immediately known.

No other injuries were reported.

Schneider says the Metropolitan Police Department is assisting with the investigation.

16. yep...
you don't point guns at cops unless you A) intend to shoot them, which he didn't, or B)want them to shoot you.

17. yesterday I thought Mr. Road Rage was gonna kill me b/c I stopped my car for an emergency vehicle
like you're supposed to. He gunned his engine, went around me in heavy traffic into the oncoming lane, yelled FU and gave me the finger---all b/c I didn't go on a green light right away when the siren was near.

Agreed, this city needs something it's not getting. How about jobs for the unemployed.

4. Well, it could be another one of those "Second Amendment" guys..
making sure his right to carry a gun is not taken away by Obama and Congress.

Looking forward to finding out if this guy was a Glenn Beck viewer.

flashing lights. Can you count the lights?
