Palin's Next Stops: Iowa, TV
Source: KCRG

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Forget Disneyland. Sarah Palin's going to Iowa.

The former Alaska governor and 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee is on a roll: Her political endorsements have helped propel a number of upstart Republican contenders to victory in recent primaries, including a double win Tuesday in Delaware and New Hampshire. Her cable TV show makes its debut in November. And now she's off to the state that's made and broken more than its share of presidential campaigns.

Palin will be the big draw at Friday's Reagan Dinner in Des Moines, the Iowa Republican Party's biggest fundraiser. The question that will be on everyone's mind is whether she'll run for president in 2012.

Iowa, home to the nation's leadoff presidential caucuses, can be tough terrain for celebrity candidates. Those who try to ride their fame to victory in Iowa without organizing a grass-roots campaign often find themselves on the outs.

1. She's going to set up a website based in
Tuvalu?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.tv

"The domain name .tv is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for the islands of Tuvalu."

2. What I wonder is
If most of those tea party people she backed "LOSE" in November because they were just plain to crazy for republicans to vote for them, will she still be the "power" force the media is claiming she is now? If she does run, how is it going to play out when she has to actually debate with her fellow republicans? Could she actually pull of a win as the republican nominee? If so does anyone really think she could come off looking like the kind of person who could run this country after having to debate president Obama, or after interviews with any "real" news organization? And what about all the juice things Levi is supposed to have on her? Does anyone think that if he really does have stuff on her, he won't be selling it to the highest bidder?

I actually think she won't run because I don't think the republican party would want her as their nominee. She might get some kind of a "bribe" to stay out of the race, a position of some kind, but I really think she is into making "millions" off of her gullible followers, and as long as they are willing to fork out the money, she can make a whole lot more from them than by being president! I could be wrong, but only time will tell!

4. The media touts her winning endorsements, but tends to forget her losing endorsements
For instance, the candidate Palin endorsed for governor in Georgia (and was ahead at the time of her endorsement) - Karen Handle wound up losing the nomination to the ethically challenged half-term former congress-critter Nathan Deal. I've never once heard mention of that Palin endorsement, and I'm sure there are plenty of other endorsees who have lost as well. Hell, I could go around endorsing people I thought would win and end up with a better track record, but the media won't give me all the free camera time I want.

I don't recall seeing any mention of her endorsement outside of the Washington Post though.

6. Many Iowa Tea-Baggers are PISSED at Palin for supporting Branstad
for governor over their candidate of choice, Bob Vander Plaats! Supposedly, many if not all are planning on being no-shows at the Reagan dinner for exactly this reason!

8. Palin hits Obama, GOP establishment in Iowa speech
Edited on Sat Sep-18-10 02:05 AM by alp227
DES MOINES - Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin came to Iowa on Friday night and left few of her opponents unscathed, sharply attacking President Obama and the Democrats, denouncing the news media and pointedly calling on establishment Republicans to get over their losses in the primaries and unite for the November elections.

Palin's first visit to Iowa this year stirred speculation about a possible 2012 presidential run, but, with the exception of a humorous quip, the former governor kept her focus entirely on the midterm elections, calling for a citizen revolt against the Obama agenda.

"It's the voters who will stop these leftist policies," she said. "The voters will stop this fundamental transformation of America that's not good for America. It's the patriots who will restore America."
