Did Saxby Chambliss aide leave threatening slur?

U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss confirmed Tuesday that he investigating whether one of his staffers left a threatening slur on an Internet discussion of the right of gays and lesbians to serve openly in the U.S. military.

“We have seen the allegations and are moving quickly to understand the facts. This office has not and will not tolerate any activity of the sort alleged,” Chambliss spokeswoman Bronwyn Lance Chester said. “Once we have ascertained whether these claims are true, we will take the appropriate steps.”

The comment was posted on Joe.My.God., a blog dedicated to gay and lesbian issues.

“All (gays) must die,” wrote the commenter, identifying himself as “Jimmy,” shortly after a Democratic bid to repeal “don’t ask, don’t tell” faltered in the U.S. Senate.

Option 1: Senator Chambliss is an incompetent Manager and hires people too stupid to think posting something from a Government computer won't be traceable.

Option 2: Senator Chambliss encourages or accepts an atmosphere of hatred and bigotry among his staff members.

I wonder which...

1. Combination of both
He accepts it, but is too stupid to hire the types that know how to hide it.

2. It said “All f****ts must die.”
I just doesn't relay the same hatred and bigotry when they try to whitewash the actual language used. It is like saying black instead of the n-word or woman instead of the c-word. The hateful language choice is important.

3. I agree. In this context, it's appropriate to write-out the entire comment.
What it said was, "All faggots must die."

It sounds uglier when it's precisely quoted.

4. No mention that he is a Republican. If a Democrat were involved a (D) would have appeared in
Sentence #1, if not the headline.

5. I'm so proud to have Saxby as my Senator - NOT !!!!

That sorry excuse for a politician is pathetic, and obviously hires staff not too different from himself. Every time I send his office an email expressing my views and concerns on something I get one back basically telling me why I'm wrong.

6. Until it's confirmed otherwise I'm assuming it was Chambliss himself.

7. Update: Joe Jervis has received confirmation that the comment did indeed come from Chambliss’ office
"The identity of the commenter may come tomorrow." http://www.boxturtlebulletin.com/2010/09/21/26444

9. I don't see why this would distress Saxby
After all, he's the guy who grabbed his Senate seat by questioning the patriotism of a man who left three limbs in the dirt of Vietnam. My guess about the "appropriate steps" Chambliss will take is dinner out and a raise for his staff person.

10. No doubt to be followed by a long night of gay sex.
Republican hypocrisy knows no bounds.
