Standoff In Fairview Heights Began With Feds' Investigation
Source: Fox2now.com

FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, IL (KTVI-FOX2now.com) — Police and federal agents are locked in a standoff with a man they say is threatening to blow himself and others up. And police say the suspect has the know-how to do it. The scene of the incident is Summit Drive, not far from New Bunkum Road in Fairview Heights. Police say the man has bomb disposal experience, leading them to take his threats very seriously.

Officials say it began around 7:30 Tuesday evening when Fairfview Heights officer, FBI agents, and the Secret Service went to the home to question the man living there in connection with some sort of federal investigation. Officials are not saying what the investigation is about or why the resident, a fifty year old man, was being questioned.

Officials say the incident quickly turned confrontational, with the man beginning to make threats and claiming he had explosives. Police immediately pulled back, set up a perimeter, and called in the bomb squad. Sources say a bomb unit from Scott Air Force Base has been brought in.

"It was not an arrest situation," Lt. Steve Evans of the Fairview Heights Police told reporters. "I don't know what their role was other than they went there not expecting this type of confrontation."

2. Sounds like another Tea-bagger pushed over the edge by Limpballs
and Becker Head. I would think they would keep their minions calm, so that they aren't in jail and unable to vote RepubliCON.

6. He threateed the President, but they did not expect trouble when they went to question him?
Or did he threaten the President only after the feds showed up to question him?

Poor reporting.
