Jonathan Klein, the president of the beleaguered CNN cable channel in the United States, is being replaced by Ken Jautz, the head of the tabloid-friendly sister channel HLN, the company said Friday.

Mr. Jautz’s title will be the executive vice president of CNN/U.S. As the head of HLN, Mr. Jautz orchestrated a sharp shift away from the channel’s Headline News roots and added opinionated hosts like Nancy Grace, Joy Behar and, for a time, Glenn Beck. Under Mr. Jautz’s leadership, the prime time ratings surged as the line-up skewed heavily toward crime and celebrity coverage.

1. People don't want serious news no matter how much they claim they do.

3. Not saying Klein is good
But replacing him with the clown that gave Glenn Beck his first TV shot over the objections of a number of CNN news people - ugggh!

5. If CNN disappeared from my satellite lineup I'd never know it
I literally haven't watched it for years

Cracks me up to see it described as "beleaguered".

6. We call it the "War Pump" channel.
Mostly propaganda from RW Think Tanks, CIA, Dept. of Defense, Pentagon and other interests on there. When Wolf Blitzer started dominating was the start of the downward spiral into being a mouthpiece for "special interests."
