China to Levy Anti-Dumping Duty on U.S. Poultry, Ministry of Commerce Says
Source: Bloomberg News

China will impose an anti-dumping duty as high as 105.4 percent on U.S. broiler chicken products, effective tomorrow, the Ministry of Commerce said today.

China found that the U.S. industry dumped such products on the Chinese market, hurting domestic production, the ministry said. The tax rate will be 50.3 percent to 53.4 percent for those U.S. producers who cooperated with the investigation and 105.4 percent for those who didn’t, it said.

“The final ruling is that the there is a causal relationship between the U.S. dumping of broiler products and the losses suffered by the Chinese industry,” the ministry said in Beijing.

China said in April an initial investigation showed the U.S. provides subsidized soybeans and corn to its poultry industry, hurting Chinese producers. On Aug. 31, the government imposed five-year punitive anti-subsidy tariffs after upholding a finding that the U.S. broiler chicken products were subsidized.

6. Not quite the case surely
As far as I'm aware the Chinese government doesn't subsidize anything. In this situation China is able to retaliate against subsidies whereas African countries whose farmers are totally screwn by US farm subsidies are unable to do so.

13. "...the Chinese government doesn't subsidize anything" - WTF
It's been awhile since I've seen such a blatantly uniformed statement on DU. I don't even know where to start on responding to this....

4. So, when President Obama said the US has managed to avoid a trade war,
he really meant was that the US will pretend that trade with other countries is fair and equatable despite the largest trade deficit in the history of our nation. While China continues to place huge tariffs on our products for arbitrary and actual reasons.

A trade war with China is just what we need to get domestic manufacturing and production started again. Too bad our American ruling oligarchy wont let us.
