GOP slams push-back of tax vote
Source: NYPost

WASHINGTON -- House Minority Leader John Boehner yesterday blasted Democrats for punting a tax-cut vote until after the midterm elections, calling it the "most irresponsible thing I've seen since I've been in Washington, DC."

"Congress has an opportunity this week to end some of the uncertainty by allowing the American people to know what the tax rates are going to be at the end of the year," Boehner (R-Ohio) told "Fox News Sunday."

"To adjourn without dealing with this means that in (the Democrats') minds, the elections are more important than jobs for the American people." But House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) -- while confirming that the tax vote would, indeed, be put off until after Nov. 2 -- insisted that there was no uncertainty about extending middle-class tax cuts.

"There will be no increase in middle-income taxes," he vowed on the same show.

...

"It was the Democrats themselves who decided not to have this debate," Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said yesterday on ABC's "This Week."

"And you know why? Thirty-one Democrats in the House, five Democrats in the Senate said they agreed with me -- that we ought not to raise taxes in the middle of a recession."

1. we knew they would do this!
No matter what the democrats do the republicans are going to attack them on it, and take over the debate. Now once again democrats will be trying to "defend" themselves while republicans attack them keeping the heat off of them! Reid was stupid not to have this vote. All he had to do was put the bill for the middle class tax cuts out for a vote. If the republicans prevented it from being voted on, it would have been them who got the blame. Now it's the democrats! If Harry has any backbone at all he will call them on this, and put it up for a vote and let the republicans dare the republicans to vote NO!

2. Every time the Democrats do ANYTHING anything at all
Orange agent comes up with "this is the most irresponsible thing" the Democrats have done. Gee why doesn't he just say I think Democrats are irresponsible and and the republicans are wonderful. Then everyone would know he is a bunch of crap.

3. Seems pretty simple to me
Let them all expire. No uncertainty there.

Make the gop argue to give away more millions to the rich.

I'll give away my few hundred just to have the satisfaction of watching the greedy bastards have to open their wallet. F'em.

4. I'm beginning to like the idea.
Let them expire. Repugs will have to beg to get Paris Hilton and Limbaugh a tax break.

8. +1 Genius!
The simple ideas are sometimes the best. Yes, it would cost me a little bit too, no big deal.

But don't just let them expire silently. Keep pushing for the tax break for under 250k. Keep the repugs looking like obstructors.

:hi:

7. We warned them. Any more evidence needed that they don't listen to their base? Ever?
While the Repubs practically put themselves in the loony bin trying to appeal to their base. The Dems always seem to do the opposite of what they OBVIOUSLY should. Are they really trying to forward the Republican agenda? Makes you wonder...
