Arnold Schwarznegger [sic] blasts Koch Brothers and big oil
Edited on Tue Sep-28-10 11:15 PM by KeepItReal
Source: Examiner.com (Modesto)

The puppet masters of the Tea Party Republican Party found themsvles taking heat from the Republican governor of California Arnold Schwarznegger.

The Terminator took umbrage at the out of state interests who seek to buy off the laws olf California for the purpose of their own self serving greed.

He spared no words in his opposition to the Koch Broters-Tesco-Vallero "conspiricy" that is attempting to ensure that those companies can continue to pollute California to maintain their own profits. He said, "Does anybody really believe that they are doing it out of the goodness of their black oil hearts?"

Keith Olberman has Video and audio of Arnold letting those guys have it. It's story #3.

edited to add "sic" in title since author misspelled the governor's name.

It's "Cully-for-nia" and everyone knows that.

Good for him, that was blistering.

3. I'm sure NutMeg owes these guys
If she "wins" :scared: Ca, it will go to the highest bidder. My guess is this is how she can throw so much money around her campaign.

He was the same guy who lured State Reps into the clutches of Ken Lay to deregulate.

He is up to something.

special interests for his "election." The info. on that link is a bit dated -- I'd like to see what the figures are as of 2010.

6. Whatever you think of him,
Arnold really pushed the Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006, which is probably the most aggressive anti-greenhouse gas law in the country, and signed it into law. He's done a lot more to try to protect the environment than many Democratic leaders.

7. Self-preservation.
(1) Come January 2011, he's got to be able to dine in Hollywood again. Gotta make brownie points with his tree-huggy acting pals.

(2) Holidays with the in-laws much more bearable when you have at least ONE redeeming action in office to point to; something to talk to Bobby Jr about during touch football match.

14. It's Tesoro, not Tesco
Tesoro and Valero are two oil companies that are pushing Prop 23, to repeal our groundbreaking climate change law. Tesco is a British grocery chain that is opening a number of "Fresh 'n Easy" medium-size grocery stores in underserved areas in CA.

15. Koch brothers are not well understood
Edited on Wed Sep-29-10 01:54 PM by independent_voter
while they probably vote and support republcans, I dont think it's true that they are lock step, and they're not 'Christian Right' (I believe they are Jewish, at least their dad was)

David Koch, ran as VP liberatarian candidate in 1980 AGAINST Reagan/Bush

They are corporate liberatarian, basicly against nearly any restraint on power of wealth. I believe they are no more or less dangerous than any other concentration of power to that degree. Ironically, they are the best place I ever worked. I'll never forget seeing Charles Koch in line in the cafeteria, on a day that new cash registers had a glitch. He just stood there patiently in line waiting along with everyone else, even though he owned the whole place. Same way with his elevator manners. It struck me because in the past I worked for a middle manager at another company who acted like he was the King of England in the way he expected defferential treament from anyone unfortunate enough to be around him. That doesn't mean that anything anyone else says about what Koch's do is or isnt true, but there's no question his personal style is that of a reserved mild mannered gentleman

But I don't think they really care about social issue stuff, one way or another, other than corporations should not be forced to accomodate it

They have many views alligned with the Repubican party, but I really doubt they are in anyone's 'pocket' - they likely consider themselves well above that

16. It was one of the most pointed and on target speeches that I've ever seen from that high up
I'll give him that.

I'd be happy to reconsider my opinion of him if he keeps this up.

:hi:
