U.S. to announce human rights sanctions against Iran
Source: CNN

The Obama administration is set to announce more sanctions against Iran, targeting Iranian government officials, members of the Revolutionary Guards Corps and others accused by the United States of being responsible for human rights abuses.

The sanction will block their assets and prohibit U.S. citizens from engaging in any business with those on the list, according to a State Department fact sheet obtained by CNN Wednesday.

The announcement is expected to be made by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner later in the afternoon.

4. Already dunnit
US President Barack Obama has ordered the imposition of sanctions on eight senior Iranian officials for "sustained and severe violations of human rights".

The treasury department said they would face a travel ban and asset freeze.

They include the head of the Revolutionary Guards, a former interior minister and the prosecutor-general.

The alleged abuses include the killings and beatings of anti-government protesters after the disputed presidential election in June 2009.

11. Some interesting characteristics of pathological evil in American politics
is to hide yourself and allies behind a facade of benevolence and proclaim your commitment to the highest of moral standards and ideology, and whether it be real or fabricated, point out the evils of your enemy.

What really defines evil in all of this is that people of conscience will not see through the fog, the double standards, the hypocrisy the perniciousness or true and sick character of their own malevolent leaders who can be as bad or worse than the evil they condemn.
