Pakistan TimesISLAMABAD: Pakistan once again reiterated its commitment on Thursday to restart dialogue process with India saying that it should be “meaningful and result oriented”.
Foreign Office Spokesman Abdul Basit in his weekly briefing said Pakistan was always ready to revive the dialogue process with India without attaching any condition but the process should be result oriented and include all the issues including Jammu and Kashmir dispute.He said, “Pakistan wants early solution to the Jammu and Kashmir issue to ensure lasting peace in the South Asia.”
The spokesman said Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said, “We do want sustainable and meaningful dialogue process with India and Pakistan is ready to go forward in this regard but not interested for just ‘photo opt’.
He said Pakistan was not averse to third party mediation. Since India was not ready to accept such third party mediation, so Pakistan was ready for bilateral talks. The spokesman said Pakistan’s willingness to revive the dialogue process with India should be appreciated.
