(George) Galloway vows to sue Canadian government

Former British MP George Galloway says he will sue the Canadian government, alleging it breached his privacy rights and branded him a terrorist when it told him last year that he was not welcome in Canada.

He also announced Sunday he would also take legal action against "some of the media outlets that casually repeated what were false and defamatory allegations."

"I will be seeking redress in the Canadian courts for these false accusations," Galloway told CBC News, a day after arriving in the country to resume an antiwar speaking tour.

In a speech in Toronto on Sunday afternoon, Galloway reiterated his desire to sue the government and challenged Immigration Minister Jason Kenney to a public debate. He said he would be prepared to stand outside the minister's constituency office in Calgary until he gets one.

It sucks that our creepy con gov't labelled him a terrorist in the first place and once again we pay for insane policy .... but it doesn't surprise me he's suing. Galloway had as much right to visit Canada without being libeled as any person in the world who's chosen to aid those in need. The legislation used to do this bars entry to anyone engaging in terrorism, or being a member of a terrorist organization. The clothing, relief money, diapers, medical supplies he gathered after the bombing of Gaza had nothing to do with aiding terrorism, other than having to go through the elected gov't of Palestine, as he would have had to go through ruling gov't while delivering aid relief anywhere.

I wish Kenney and Harper would pay personally. They were so afraid of Galloway and of the Canadian people having the opportunity to hear him ... now they just look like fools.
