Dean Blasts Bush Over U.S. Losses in Iraq
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20040401/ap_on_re_us/dean&cid=519&ncid=1480

WASHINGTON - President Bush (news - web sites)'s credibility is the top issue in the presidential campaign, more important than jobs, the economy and health care, now that a former administration official says the president didn't take the terrorism threat seriously enough before Sept. 11, 2001, one-time Democratic presidential hopeful Howard Dean (news - web sites) said Wednesday.

Dean told a gathering of progressive Democrats that Bush failed to act on warnings from Richard Clarke, then Bush's counterterrorism chief, that al-Qaida posed a threat to the United States. snip

"That is the legacy of this president who did not tell the truth to the American people," he told about 150 people at the annual dinner for 21st Century Democrats, a political action committee that places activists on progressive campaigns.

Dean said he thought jobs, health insurance and economic security would be the biggest issues of the presidential election. But now, "the credibility of the president of the United States is the biggest issue of this race," he said.

SNIP.."That is the legacy of this president who did not tell the truth to the American people," he told about 150 people at the annual dinner for 21st Century Democrats, a political action committee that places activists on progressive campaigns.

And I hope no one says a word to him. No one should say well maybe he's right but we need to be careful. No more of that stuff.

5. "focus in a laser-like way"
This is a very true comment in the article:

SNIP..."Democrats need to ``focus their message in a laser-like way,'' he said, to oust the Bush administration...."

That is true.

6. A Dem POTUS court installed. Would have zero credibility.
Sorry Dr. Dean I like you. But no wonder Americans are getting screwed and killed in an illeagal war crime. We have given credibility to the squatter up to this point. When he deserved none to begin with. And Americans are paying for it with their lives. I sure am not proud of myself for not trying harder to stop idiot boy and his cohorts from ruining our country. But when you treat a bunch of crooks better than you treat yourself. You are going to get screwed and killed too. Bu$h Inc. is laughing all the way to a Swiss bank. The biggest issue in this race is that Bu$h is a war criminal. And we the American people should wake up and stop appeasing him. Or we are just war criminals too.
Peace
Wildman

10. Kick! And bumped it up to 3.19!
I always loved Howard Dean. He's still the gold standard, in my view. Although I'm certainly going to support Kerry. Already started that, monetarily, too.

11. Howard hits the jackpot again!
Howard Dean was right about the impact of Saddam's capture on Iraq.
Of course he was right about the Iraq war all along.
He's not afraid to talk about the Palestine-Israel issue truthfully.
And now he's speaking out truthfully about Bush's credibility.

People say they want honest politicians, but I don't know ...

Too bad the Democratic party ignores Dean; he deserves more.

I like Howard Dean because he is not afraid to directly criticize Bush on foreign policy issues.

That's real leadership.

12. Yes, and this time no one should back off from his remarks.
You are right. There must be someone allowed to say the truth before its time.

13. Consider this.
Howard Dean is in a position to say anything he wants, because he doesn't currently hold any office. Kerry, on the other hand, has to defend his senate seat.

The two are apples and oranges. I admire Howard Dean for being outspoken and for being right. However, I accept that Kerry has to play politics.

14. And since Dean is not a surrogate, Kerry should not try to amend
the statements Dean makes. Kerry may reach a point where being outspoken is more important than playing politics.
