Insurgents attack U.S. convoy in Fallujah day after bodies of American civilians dragged through streets

FALLUJAH, Iraq (AP) Insurgents attacked a U.S. military convoy and a Humvee was burned Thursday near Fallujah, witnesses said, a day after the grisly killing and mutilation of four American civilians in the city.

It was not clear if there were any casualties in Thursday's assault. Associated Press Television News footage showed smoke pouring from the vehicle that had been abandoned on a roadside just outside the city. Witnesses said the Humvee was hit by a rocket-propelled grenade.

U.S. officials said they could not confirm the attack.

Also Thursday, two explosions near a U.S.-escorted fuel convoy wounded at least one Iraqi in northern Baghdad, witnesses said. APTN footage showed U.S. soldiers putting a wounded person on a stretcher inside an armored vehicle.

1. dang it... not civillians: mercenaries
There's a difference, and a good editor would know that and not allow such a substitution... unless... unless they had an agenda.

5. Bremer and his SS whores can punish all they want. They will only
win more American deaths. But as long as the oil money is in sight they do not care. You can bank on that being true.

6. Means he'll have to find some more mercs ...
... and those agency fees are a real rip-off ...

No-one is allowed to be killed unless Bremer OKs it in advance (or the
victims are the local "rag-heads" who obviously don't count in the US
casualty lists).

4. And...not "insurgents": Resistance Fighters!
It's getting a little tiresome hearing this as if it were only outsiders coming into Iraq that are doing the fighting instead of the Iraqi's themselves.

7. What's YOUR agenda?
According the Geneva Convention, people fighting an occupier are called RESISTANTS whatever they are paid or not and whatever they are nationals or not and their actions are entirely legitimate! Would you call "mercenaries" the foreigners that went to Spain to fight Franco?

8. And the people fighting the invaders ...
... were not the ones being described as "civilians" who .1 corrected to
"mercenaries".

The mercenaries were the ones who died.
The Iraqi resistance were the ones who killed them (albeit brutally).

9. Oups! My mistake. Sorry!
Although they were not armed, they were working for the occupiers. That'll teach them...

11. Some reports
Edited on Thu Apr-01-04 08:58 AM by Magleetis
are saying that they were indeed armed, and they had flak jackets on. The mercenaries were trained at Blackwater USA. Check it out at
www.blackwaterusa.com They were earning $500.00 a day to fight. Don't play with fire if you don't want to get burned.

10. mercenaries are professional combatants...
that is, they are private contractors who get paid to fight.

That's not an agenda, just the correct choice of words.
