RNC opens assault on anti-Bush groups

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The Republican National Committee launched a wide-ranging legal assault Wednesday on more than two dozen political groups working to defeat President Bush.

The committee says the groups are part of an "unprecedented criminal enterprise" to circumvent federal campaign laws and pour illegal soft money contributions into the 2004 race.

1. no freedom of speech
unless it glorifies the president.

Sigh. It's stuff like this that the repugs ought to be hauled to the carpet on. How dare they pull a stunt like this, given that their system is by far more elaborate and far reaching.

Seems repugs just don't like competition.

2. I've come to believe that the reason so many American neo-cons
hated the Soviet Communists was that they envied them their authoritarian control on Russian society.

4. How about this:

"The committee says the groups are part of an "unprecedented criminal enterprise" to circumvent federal campaign laws and pour illegal soft money contributions into the 2004 race".
