True or Not, GOP and Dems Say Races Are Tightening

WASHINGTON (AP) — Top political strategists with both major parties are saying the same thing: Democratic candidates are clawing their way back from an electoral abyss and might keep their congressional majorities after all.

Whether it's cynicism or reality, Republicans as well as Democrats are playing an expectations game aimed at voters who might stay home on Nov. 2 if they think their cause is either hopeless or assured of victory.

Party leaders say prospects are slightly less dire for Democrats, even though the party remains almost certain to suffer big losses in Congress and races for governor.

1. It's not really true that they're "tightening", but it is a competitive election.
Both houses are in play: the Democrats could control both, one, or neither house within the margin of error of any good prediction.

9. Sure the Main Stream Media is now claiming the election is "Tightening"
When the public is under the impression an election is "Tight", they watch more television near the election. The M$M likes close elections because have larger viewing audiences and thus can charge more for advertising.

We have always been ahead of the Republicans, and on election night it is going to tip in our favor. Will the M$M ever be held to account for their false reporting? Of course not, they will just be laughing all the way to the bank.

12. Republicans just are not offering voters believable solutions.
And Democrats are only now getting into gear.

We have great candidates in California. People I talk to like Jerry Brown and Barbara Boxer so I don't think we will have a problem here.

Besides, you would not believe the people who have utterly no interest in smoking marijuana but who think it should be legalized and TAXED. If wine and beer are taxed, why not marijuana? I think a lot of people are asking that question.

14. S**t Brown
in Cali will create jobs alonwith Boxer's help. More than likely, Brown will reduce Cali's deficit and handle a lot of problems with of course opposition from the GOP, but he knows how to handle them.

16. Maybe the sleeping giant is awakening...
The sleeping giant of Progressives and Liberals of all stripes, if they vote, can keep the momentum going forward. The key is "If they vote."
I have my absentee ballot right in front of me mostly marked, just waiting for more info in ballot measures soaked in legalese.
I have vowed to not vote for any candidate approved by the teabaggers in my state. Or any repugthugs. Its actually harder than it looks because some local races are non-partisan so the candidates do not have to declare what party they are affiliated with. I looked at the teabagger and repugthug primary endorsements and eliminated those candidates from any general election consideration.
