GOP Complaint Cites Pro-Democratic Groups
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A40573-2004Mar31.html

The Bush campaign and the Republican Party filed charges yesterday with the Federal Election Commission accusing the Kerry campaign and seven "independent" organizations of conducting a criminal conspiracy to inject large amounts of "soft money" into the 2004 election.

The Bush campaign, which this month has spent an unprecedented $41.8 million on television ads, many of them attacking Sen. John F. Kerry (D-Mass.), has become increasingly frustrated by the ability of Kerry and such "independent" groups as MoveOn.org and the Media Fund to counter with nearly $20 million in ads.

In a separate rule-making process expected to take months, the FEC is addressing many of the issues raised by the Bush-RNC complaint. The complaint filed yesterday is designed to force a much quicker decision on the legality of the activities of the Kerry campaign and allied groups. A ruling against the Democrats would cut off a major source of campaign support for Kerry.

A ruling by the FEC against the Dem groups could be disasterous.

A "criminal conspiracy" would be awfully hard to prove.

I guess Georgie can't stand the fact so many people would be wiling to fork over dough to groups to have their voices collectively heard.

4. I think the conservative talk shows are political ads for Bush.
All day long the wingnut talk show hosts are attacking Kerry. I think what they do is soft money support for Bush. Let go to court to stop them!

5. another sign that those f*ers are really running scared
How much money has dubya raised so far?

They are slowly but surely losing voters to Kerry. Now that the truth is coming out about how he did nothing against terrorism before 9/11, and the Iraq war has become a quagmire, the "I am your war president" slogan is becoming a liability for him. The only thing that could save his ass is his money and all the misleading ads he could buy with them.

If Kerry can't raise enough money, he might be in trouble.
