Landrieu Not Lifting OMB Hold Yet.
Source: Government Executive

Last month, Sen. Mary Landrieu, D-La., placed a hold on the nomination of Jacob Lew to head the Office of Management and Budget, saying she wouldn't lift it until the Obama administration lifted its moratorium on offshore oil drilling.

Yesterday, the administration did just that. Was that good enough for Landrieu? Nope.

2. Landrieu is quite the prima donna.
Throws a tantrum and gets what she wants. Well bully for her.

8. Well, that's one very polite way of putting it
Personally, I prefer to think of her as the oil industry's psycho hose beast.

3. Unbelievable....
It's unbelievable that apparently (even in a Democratic controlled senate) any nominee needs unanimous approval to make it through the confirmation process - if a single senator doesn't like a nominee, or wants to score political points thay can block that nomination.

It's really unbelievable that a senator who calls herself a Democrat can pull this kind of crap with no repurcussions.

9. Landrieu's constituents couldn't care less what Obama thinks
Which is exactly why she's doing what she's doing. She and her brother Mitch are part of an old line Louisiana political family who are, first and foremost, loyal to the citizens of the state. Party loyalty comes second.

6. While I neither agree with Landrieu's motives nor lifting the drilling moratorium
holding the nomination on Lew isn't a bad thing. He's a horrible choice for the job. Another Wall Street/DLC shill who doesn't believe deregulation is responsible for the financial trainwreck in this country.
