Fiorina refuses to detail spending cuts
Source: The Hill

California Senate candidate Carly Fiorina (R) reiterated her call for an extension of the Bush-era tax cuts Sunday but refused to name entitlement programs she'd cut to offset the resulting growth of the deficit.

Extending all the tax cuts is estimated to add $4 trillion to the deficit.

Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace asked Fiorina, who's challenging Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.), which programs she'd cut.

"I think we ought to ban earmarks. I think we ought to give citizens the opportunity to designate up to 10 percent of their federal income tax toward debt reduction," she said. "If we did that, we would reduce our debt by $95 billion a year."

Of course, discretionary, non-defense spending is only 16 percent of the federal budget, and Fiorina is not demanding that such programs be scrapped in their entirety. The only thing that is notable is that Republicans are so rarely asked what they would cut.

2. Wait a minute...

...if all voters designate 10% of their federal income tax to debt reduction, doesn't that REDUCE government revenues by 10%, thereby creating 10% more deficit this year, forcing us to borrow 10% MORE money from the Chinese, creating an equal amount of debt to what we just paid off?

3. Reduce debt by 95 billion a year would only take 12,000 years.

4. It's the "Underpants Gnome" approach to balancing budgets
Fiorina's Approach to Balancing the Budget:

<1> Post Budgets of All Agencies
<2> something something something
<3> BALANCED BUDGET!

Just like in South Park:

Reminds me of this cartoon:

5. How about just cutting the GOP out of the process?
I can guarantee one thing....SHE wouldn't take a cut; if anything, she'd make sure she made more millions.

She's evil.

6. Only one proven way to balance the budget.
Bring back Bill Clinton.

What the hell, they want a simple solution.
