Storm Over 9/11 Leaves Swing Voters Less Certain Still
http://www.nytimes.com/2004/04/01/politics/campaign/01VOIC.html

From the beginning, Judy Pappas questioned the quickness with which the Bush administration went to war in Iraq.

She voted for President Bush, and considers herself a lifelong Republican. But by the time Mr. Bush's former counterterrorism chief, Richard A. Clarke, appeared on television last week saying that the administration had focused too much on Iraq and not enough on terrorism, she was doubting that she could vote for Mr. Bush again.

"It's a tough call, it's just one man," said Ms. Pappas, 58, a legal secretary, as she bought her morning coffee across from the Capitol here. "But I feel we were set up. Do I believe Clarke? Yes, I do."

Still, Ms. Pappas is not convinced she wants to vote for John Kerry, the likely Democratic candidate. "He's not a proven entity in my book," she said. "Not yet."

In three dozen interviews this week in this swing state, a number of undecided voters sounded the same note as Ms. Pappas, saying they were growing ever more undecided the more they heard from Washington.

1. It's not so much the "storm over 9/11"
as much as it is the Bush propaganda smear campaign which confuses swing voters.

2. Kerry WOULD be a known entity if the media would INFORM the public
that it was Kerry who discovered the illegal funding of terror by international governments when he exposed BCCI and IranContra.

It was Kerry who wrote one of the first books dealing with terrorism and its funding networks back in 1997.

It was Kerry who wrote the legislation (passed under Clinton) that when enforced would track the funding for terror networks. The Bush WH was NOT enforcing the law before 9-11.

3. Call these people swing idiots. They are seriously considering voting for
people who out right lie to them and don't even try to hide it.

4. In other words, the undecideds are Kerry's for the taking ...
IF The Democratic Party plays it smart and doesn't morph back into the wuss party they became in 2002.

5. And guess who voted for the IWR?
I could literally slap him up side the head for that idiotic vote.

6. If true and wisespread....

it's enough that folks like her simply stay home on election day,
it's not a requirement that we bring her over to vote for Kerry.
That's a plus, but if she simply says "you know, I just can't vote
for Bush this time"... that's a win.
