Quad to restart equipment, add up to 1,300 jobs

Quad/Graphics Inc. (QUAD) said Thursday it will create up to 1,300 new jobs, including 420 immediate openings, as the Sussex-based printer gets $46 million in state tax credits.

The company is restarting equipment that had been shut down in 2009 during the recession.

It is also making investments in new equipment and technology, Gov. Jim Doyle said in a statement announcing the $46 million in enterprise zone tax credits for Quad/Graphics.

The company wants to immediately fill 260 fulltime jobs and 160 part-time positions at its Wisconsin plants, the news release said.

The jobs include a wide range of production, administrative and management positions, all of which are posted on the company's Web site.

and THE MONEY WILL GO INTO THE POCKETS OF WORKERS WHO WILL TRICKLE IT UP TO THE GOVERNMENT IN TAXES AND SAVINGS IN UNEMPLOYMENT
