4. I remember arguing with Republicans after 9/11...
Me asking where the hell NORAD was and why weren't those jets escorted away from the city... they all claimed that was a myth, that jets never scramble, and there's no such thing as an in air escort.

I kid you not.

12. Payne Stewart, the golfer's, jet -- was escorted.
Anybody else remember that? His small jet depressurized and everyone on board died from lack of O2. They scrambled the jets, I think in less than 20 minutes, they got visual confirmation that it was not being guided, and eventually it crashed in North Dakota. It was escorted across several states.

That was BEFORE 9/11. I'm not a golfer and I remember that one.

27. Urgh - you're wrong
Payne Stewart's plane was intercepted in about 1-1/2 hrs. It's easy to get the time wrong, because there was a time zone change going from Eastern to Central. Also, no aircraft were scrambled for the intercept, but national guard airplanes (unarmed by the way) were diverted from a training flight to perform the intercept.

50. It was more to clear airspace, and maybe warn people on the ground if
communications could keep up. They could spot and warn aircraft nearby better than the FAA's ground radars can, especially if something that doesn't have a transponder like an experimental aircraft (Hobbyist) got nearby. The F-18's/15's/16's can see them, even if ground radar can't.

The bogus reasons we are being attacked change so often I can hardly keep up, honestly.

Personally, I think the lie I liked best was "for our freedoms". It just sounded so "Us VS. Them", and had a great Tom Clancy type tension to it.

These days the Propaganda is getting a bit laughable.

Maybe they need to consult Bruckheimer again.

I'll bet he could really spice up these stale "storylines."

It's a pity they can't get Cannell.

He's pretty much held over the draconian leftovers and legislation from their previous dictatorship, and refuses to do anything to hold any of them accountable for their crimes, so it's all good.

All this grump and worry about Civil Rights, Police State, Patriot Act, Abuse of Power, Unnecessary, Neverending, and Illegal Wars, and Fear mongering for Political Gain and what not, just paranoid Poppycock if you ask me.

Plane lands safely at JFK amid global terror alerts - http://bit.ly/9ZT2aM

By BNO News

LONDON/D.C. (BNO NEWS) — Fighter jets escorted a United Arab Emirates passenger plane from Yemen to New York amid a continuing series of terror alerts on Friday, officials said, in what appeared to be a potentially major terrorist plot.

The scare began on early Friday morning (European time) when a UPS cargo plane landed at East Midlands Airport from Yemen en-route to Chicago via Philadelphia. It landed in England as part of a routine stop over.

Scotland Yard said the cargo was removed from the aircraft and examined by explosives officers, after which they were sent for additional scientific examination. Sources said no explosives were found in the package, but did say it contained powder and wires.

A second suspicious package, also originating from Yemen and en-route to Chicago, was found at a FedEx facility in Dubai. “In cooperation with the FBI, local authorities have confiscated a suspicious package at the FedEx facility in Dubai,” said Maury Lane, a spokesman for FedEx.

As a result of the discovery and the suspicion that they were terrorism-related, FedEx has indefinitely embargoed all shipments from Yemen. “The Company is cooperating fully with the authorities on this matter,” Lane added.

If it was seriously suspected of being a risk, it would not be landing anywhere near an international airport, with or without escorts. It is a farce for the political drama.

Skeptic that I am, I just wonder if this started out an October surprise that was discovered and harnessed for the positive protectionist PR.

What I would give to inspect those other, wired white powdered cartridges, discovered on UPS in England. How do you spell political hoax for someone's gain?

Sadly, we were spared an in-flight explosion because it malfunctioned and because the other passengers restrained him from a 2nd attempt to blow off his balls (it must REALLY hurt to just roast them). The only thing thing the government did was after the fact.

59. There is a huge difference between questioning and
scriptwriting another set of unproven assumptions to substitute for the mainstream narrative. One can not question when one is sure one knows 'the truth' already. It is a fun game. But it actually is just another way to shut one's mind and stop questioning. People with that mindset are easy to sell, sell products, messages, anything. Often, those who are sure they 'get' what others miss are actually far more open to media messaging and advertizing than others are. If I had a meta message to put out, the 'we know' crowd would be the main target group because they are wide open to suggestions. Much energy is spent is propping up a self image of near phychic comprehensions, so all sorts of back doors are open to place bits of this and that where they need to go. Also this is the set of people who are actually most in awe of 'leaders' as they have this image of 'evil doers' who are almost superhuman in their abilities to plan and keep secrets and manage wide ranging schemes that never get found out.
It is a faith based sort of thinking, to be blunt about it. and it is presented with Evangelical flair. And self righteousness. A message that can not be explained, because only the chosen can understand, while others are blinded by demonic influences that they are not even aware of.

53. Well...if you'll notice, this was a flight entering the US from abroad
and that was how NORAD (a US/Canada bi-national Command) was deployed and operating. Primarily it was identifying U/I aircraft approaching the Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ). All of the 9-11 hizacked flights were domestic - that means none were approaching the ADIZ from international airspace.

So in short, on 9-11, NORAD was doing what it did today.

54. You must not remember, ...
All of the simultaneous exercises Cheney was supervising on Sept. 11, 2001, that effectively had NORAD either busy or standing down. All exercises were planned ahead of time of course, the exact day of 911, which is incidently, the national code for help needed in emergency. All this by coincidence, for the gullible. NORAD has always provide the framework for national defense outside and within, our borders.

Of course that was back in 1998 because that's how long it took to plan. Cheney was skeptical he could get on the ticket, but Bigfoot assured us all that he'd fix it with the RNC. You shoulda seen it. That Bigfoot is amazing!

62. Not necessarily
a conspiracy. Cheney learned the attacks were coming, having been in close contact with the CIA during the summer of 2001, and scheduled NORAD training exercises for the week of September 10th which left our eastern seaboard vulnerable. That's why you hear, "Is this real world, or exercise?" on the 9/11 tapes. That's all it took to allow the hijacked planes to hit most of their targets.

64. I worked in Cheyenne Mountain 1986-1990 and we conducted
probably an exercise a week covering the main Op Centers - Air Defense Ops Center (NORAD), Norad CP, Missile Warning Center (USSPACECOM), Space Surveillance Center (USSSPACECOM) and the Space Defense Operations Center (USSPACECOM). Of course today USSPACECOM has been eaten up by USSTRATCOM and NORAD is paired with USNORTHCOM.

Some exercises are local only and some are regional or larger. The suggestion that Cheney was in on 9-11 is as stupid as suggesting Obama had the toner bombs planted just to save the day in an attempt to affect Tuesday's election. Both ideas are pure bullshit.
