1. When McCain picked Palin, Dick Cavett said McCain aimed low--and missed
I still love Cavett. He was great back then, and he's still great.

He also said of Palin that she doesn't seem to have a first language.

30. Most voters probably won't even remember Shock & Awe.
Low information voters and short attention span voters. Don't remember last year much less 2003. They CERTAINLY don't remember how bad things got when the people they're in love with at present were running things. And the machinery on their side is set up to make sure they don't remember. Whoppers of Mass Distraction.

He chose the incompetent (Palin) and the now the entire GOP is backing incompetents.
The entire GOP is following his irresponsible lead backing people that clearly no nothing about the law or the constitution. They don't care about the consequences of having a bunch of blithering idiots as part of their party.

8. In the service of his country this senator was a POW in Vietnam. He
gave up his freedom for a time, (along with a lot of others that gave that and more) - to support Palin and Angle?

I get the feeling he is treating it as a game, or with all the wisdom of an angry child.

Or perhaps the tea party is invigorating, like viagra for a failed politicians?

12. The heroic John McCain
is a war criminal who bombed innocent civilians and towns. He's a liar, a cheat and a Palin-picker. The people that saved him from the crash should have executed him then.

16. This is vintage John McCain
who was involved in a major fire aboard an aircraft carrier. While the rest of his shipmates were fighting the fire and/or burning to death, he was down in the ready room, watching it on closed circuit tv. Later, he helped himself to a little R&R, hitched a ride on a reporter's plane, and left his burned, exhausted shipmates to mop up the damage.

This is the same John McCain, who, it would appear, sang like a canary almost as soon as he hit the gates of the Hanoi Hilton, and allowed himself to be used as a propaganda tool by North Vietnam.

As a legacy appointee,he graduated 5th from the bottom of his class at the Naval Academy, and by rights, should never have been anywhere near the cockpit of a plane. Of course, daddy and granddaddy were both Admirals, so the rules didn't apply to little Johnny. He went on to prove he shouldn't have been a pilot by crashing 3 planes.

Upon return home, he kicked his crippled wife to the curb, left his kids, and married little Miss Cindy, who he ever so lovingly called a c**t in public.

I detest this vile, nasty, ill-tempered, self-absorbed,misogynistic little POS, and as a Navy vet, I find his treatment of his shipmates absolutely unforgivable.

Sorry for the rant, but his "hero" status really sets me off. It's a myth. He's an embarrassment to the Navy, the Senate, and good people everywhere.

21. More planes?
I thought he crashed five planes (including the one he ditched in Vietnam) I also read a summary of his "service" that stated he had such little fly time versus the amount of planes he wrecked that he effectively cost taxpayers millions & millions of dollars, and that his cost per hour flying on missions was something like $40,000 a minute. Is that true?

In any case, McCain is another example of how a repig can be a total failure in every phase of his life (except being a gigolo) and due to connections become a big deal.

26. I know. I am just amazed that someone could come through all that
and wind up with the kind of viewpoints he has. I guess, given that he seems to sway toward whatever group caresses him the best, this should be no surprise.

Sociopath or Narcissistic Personality Disorder. It's all about him all the time. I don't think he has a shred of empathy in him.

And he picked palin because (I STRONGLY believe) he fantasized taking her to bed. Probably knew he couldn't get away with it and that she might not go for it - even though she'd probably shake her tail feathers because she's quite the tease. I don't know if many people noticed but when he introduced her for the first time that day after the Dem convention, he stepped back and to the side while she took the podium. And while she spoke, ALL HE DID throughout her speech was sneak glances at her backside and fiddle with his wedding ring. INCREDIBLY telling. Body language doesn't lie. I knew it then and there.

Same thing for people like pat buchanan. He, like john mcthuselah, just dreams of bedding these fetching young lassies. buchanan would give his right nut to have a night alone with sarah palin. With christine o'donnell too. He's got it so bad for her that I'm surprised the table top stays level when he's sitting there on camera talking about her. Dirty old men with last-roar-of-passion fantasies. They're leading with their "other" head, not the one with which they supposedly think.

I personally think he is checking out mentally. If anyone else would do the flip flops he's done in the last two years, drugs would be suspected. He needs to retire. His credibility is shot.

better than a three-in-four chance to win.
