MD rep circulates anti-Islam e-mail written by 8th-grade son
funny how many of these so-called christians never think of pointing the shit end of the stick at themselves. A so-called christian president started this whole quagmire in the name of god in the first place...

-----------quote-----------------
A county delegate known for ultra-conservative views on religion yesterday generated a wave of protest among state lawmakers by e-mailing an essay that portrays Islam as promoting hatred and militancy.

Del. Don Dwyer, D-Glen Burnie, sent copies of an essay written by his eighth-grade nephew, Alex Dwyer - titled "Is Islam really peaceful?" - to delegates and senators.

Writing for his history class, Alex wrote that Bible references support the view that Islam "is not a peaceable religion." He quotes Islamic scriptures to show that the Sept. 11 attacks stemmed from Muslims' general proclivity to violence.

"In contrast to Christ, Islam is quite the opposite in that it says that you are to do to others as they do to you, whereas Christ tells us to repay evil with good, and to not repay evil with evil. Thus, Islam is a much more self-satisfying religion and the exact opposite of Christianity."

3. has this "Christian" ever read the frikkin Old Testament???
Oh I forgot- while other faiths are required to stand behind every letter of their books, the Bible gets a free pass... again...

Hosea 13:16, for starters.... shall I hold that up as a foundation of the Christian faith?

4. Student government
Well, if British grad students can write intelligence reports for Colin Powell, then MD eighth graders should be able to write anthroplogy treatises for the edification of state legislators, right?

5. Why is there a "D" after his name
and not an "R". He'd fit right in with the Repuks.

6. MD is home to a lot
of old-school, conservative democrats, especially in the more rural areas. Many in our state legislature are just DINO Zell Miller worshippers...

Forgot to add: The news mentioned that of course his kid goes to an upper-crust 'christian' academy, and that he got an A+ for the hateful, poorly researched essay

12. Del. Dwyer is not DINO - he's Republican
I read a story about this in the Sun this morning, and I know he was IDed as a Republican.

It's true that there are a lot of conservative Dems in the legislature, but this guy sure as hell ain't one of them.

Checking...

Bingo.

8. Umm....Obviously A BAD Sunday school student.
1) The bible doesn't speak about Islam at all that I am aware of.

2) Judaism basically says "an eye for an eye" as well.

17. "an eye for an eye"
Actually "an eye for an eye" represented the of epitome liberal progressiveness for its day. In an age that the one harmed could escalate the situation many times over the original offense--It meant that retribution could not be exacted in greater degree than an eye for an eye. Say one man caused the loss of sight in another person's eye. That person could no longer demand that the first man lose his sight in both eyes as well as the eyes of his son. An "eye for an eye" went even further. Punishment could not be enforced by the individual but only by the community and with the exception of murder the offender could repay the debt by monetary means.

20. When you put it that way....
I see that chimpy has backtracked on the Old Testament. His retribution is always much worse than the original offense.

See: "WH spins yawning boy" for an example.

9. Our "christian" values

Of course, it probably doesn't help that about every 4 or 5 months,
one member or another of our leadership reminds the world that "we
are on a CRUSADE" against terrorism (or is it Islam?). I'm pretty
sure that most in the Muslim world remember our christian values
as displayed by various "crusaders" over the centuries.

18. and it's people like them that are destroying humanity
Some muslim groups had a protest in Annapolis today, and Dwyer dismissed it as "political correctness gone amok"

And it's people like him that have the gall to wonder why americans and the american way of doing things aren't universally loved and revered in the middle east...

23. Dwyer: Christian hatred at its best
These bloodthirsty Christian soldiers are responsible for the deaths of anywhere from 8 - 10,000 Iraqis, and they claim to know what "a peaceable religion" is? On top of which, the godly Dwyer circulates the racist scribblings of his adolescent relative on the public's dime?

Contemptible shit-for-a-heart!
