Bush* administration grants Sept. 11 panel access to Clinton documents
Didn't see this posted yet.

The Bush administration gave the federal panel reviewing the Sept. 11 attacks access Friday to thousands of classified counterterrorism documents from the Clinton administration.

Bush officials granted the Sept. 11 commission's request to review the material after Bruce Lindsey, former legal adviser to President Clinton, said the administration failed to turn over all of Clinton's records to the panel.

The commission's lawyers will begin reviewing the material Monday and should know within a day and a half if additional documents should be released, said commission spokesman Al Felzenberg. The panel isn't making prejudgments until then, he said.

"There's a lot of paper flying around," Felzenberg said. "We'll know quickly if there are materials we should have or if they are duplicates."

Lindsey said Thursday that the commission isn't getting a full picture of Clinton's terrorism policies because the Bush administration had only forwarded 25 percent of the 11,000 records it wanted to provide the panel.

I am sure the white house kept all the old panties the republicans dug up during the Clinton year and kept for evidence against Clinton, wonder if there are any good red ones in the files? I can see them waving the red panties over their heads now, we got Clinton, we got him it was his fault he spent too much time engaging in dirty sex.

basically means that it was answered by him with such silence that all you can hear are the crickets chirping in the background

13. "if there are materials we should have or if they are duplicates"
It wouldn't be at all surprising if BushCo just resubmitted the same materials. It seems like exactly the sort of strategy that they would try to use to stall, delay, and obfuscate.

8. Fineman says that Bush's "Clinton failed in 8 years" works with the
media and therefore with folks.

He forgot to mention that Clinton had not failed.

But facts do not matter to our media whores.

All the terrorist attacks stopped by Clinton, the folks brought to justice by Clinton, and the obvious errors on the Bush watch that failed to even give us a chance of stopping Osama, do not matter as long as Clinton did not go to war (ignoring the GOP wag the dog objection) - and therefore didn't kill Osama before 911.

Fineman does not give a damn about the logic - he is cool with blame Clinton and is happy to report that the blame Clinton works for Bush.

12. Chris Mathews tonight - Hardball
They were agreeing on 911 not being a problem for Bush - but that Joe Wilson's book and Woodwards book on Iraq may cause a problem.

The 8 years Clinton did not get Osama as a line that worked was agreed to by Fineman and Chris just prior to that.

And just prior to that Chris said he did not suspect that anyone was mad or angry with Bush prior to going out on the primary trail!

22. How "gracious" of them - NOT!
It's a fucking commission set up to investigate all bunkerboy's gang's fuck-ups.

Here's a clue bunkerboy - IT HAPPENED UNDER YOUR WATCH!

Glad they'll get to see what a REAL President could do.

I have the utmost faith that Clinton 1) warned this gang of criminals about 911 and 2) bunkerboy thoroughly blew it, if not LIHOP/MIHOP.

Bunkerboy is screwed big time.

Of course, if that is the case, we'll hear no more of Clinton's papers.

Does anyone know if there are actually reliable security measures in place to keep the administration from "accidently" losing documents or "editing" them to change or remove stuff that they don't want others to see?

24. UPDATE: Talking Points Memo/Washington Post
Washington Post article here:

9/11 Panel Granted Look at Clinton Papers; White House Moves to Cut Off Another Dispute Over Testimony, Documents

Josh Marshall's revealing take on the article and developments here:

http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com

Excerpt; my emphasis:

But then there's this: "But in comments to reporters in Huntington, W.Va., McClellan declined to say whether the White House would agree to actually hand over any of the disputed documents at issue, raising the possibility of further disputes."

Is this an issue of whether the Commission gets physical custody of the documents, as opposed to reviewing them at some facility controlled by the White House, as has been the case with other material?

The article says some commission members are now raising the possibility that the White House is withholding other documents as well.
