Thousands march in Baghdad to support radical cleric

BAGHDAD, April 3 (Reuters) - Thousands of supporters of Iraq's defiant Shi'ite cleric, Moqtada Sadr, marched through the streets of Baghdad on Saturday, in a show of strength punctuated by anti-occupation rhetoric.

Members of Sadr's militia, known as the Mehdi army, paraded through Sadr city, his power base in the northeast of the Iraqi capital.

Some of them wore black masks, and many carried banners and pictures of the cleric and of his father who was assassinated in 1999. An American and an Israeli flag were set on fire. snip

Wasn't there once a magazine called Soldiers of Fortune that touted the mercenary lifestyle, or is this just a myth? Regardless, it's not like the resistance can't easily pick them out in a crowd. Ruthless they may be, but they are fighting on somebody elses turf. The fact that American businessmen are recruiting ex-criminals from Argentina to kill them on their own soil is just going to make them even angrier.
