MADRID, Spain - Spanish police searching for suspects in last month’s Madrid train bombings cordoned off a building in a southern suburb, and an ensuing explosion killed one person, officials said Saturday.
The explosion inside the building where the suspects were believed to be hiding also injured seven people, an emergency services spokesman said.
The national news agency Efe reported that police carried out a controlled explosion at the scene in the town of Leganes, and the blast killed a policeman. That could not immediately be confirmed.
