Bush Slipping in Ohio, Poll Says (Where art thou, Karl Rove?)

The Cincinnati Enquirer

President Bush's job approval rating in Ohio has hit an all-time low, according to an Ohio Poll released Friday.

Only 46 percent of Ohioans approve of Bush's performance - 3 percentage points lower than the last poll, in February - and 51 percent disapprove.

The survey was of adults - not necessarily registered voters - so the numbers don't necessarily reflect how voters will act in November, said pollsters at the University of Cincinnati's Institute for Policy Research. But they do underscore the closeness of the campaign in Ohio, a state that Republicans considered to be Bush's not long ago.

1. If we can win Ohio, we won't even need Florida
Win or lose, Ohio will be closer this time. Kerry will fully campaign there, unlike Gore, and the state is hard hit by job losses. The Bush Team can have Florida, and they won't even have to steal it.

2. Ohio and Arizona
We'll still contest Florida, but the race is moving elsewhere. This is going to be damned interesting.

3. This poll is great news
BTW, does Kerry really have a shot at Arizona? I think Bush leads there.

6. Kerry seems to think so
He's getting ready to buy up the airwaves there. A SurveyUSA poll done two weeks ago found Bush leading by 9 points, but there are real problems with that poll that I can go into if you want.

Other polls are indicating real problems across the board for Bush in AZ. A poll of Arizona latinos a year ago showed 60% of them supporting Bush. A poll last week showed that number had fallen to 35%.

4. We still need our Florida back
We have suffered with 6 years of the "Jebbie & Johnnie" show. You can't believe how corrupt it has become.

Need a strong Presidential campaign here to help elect a Senator and viceversa. Gots to beat *'s handpicked Cuban and keep Senator Graham's seat.

5. Oooh...He generally fares worse with registered voters and
worse yet with likely voters. For some reason, the farther you get away from voting, the more popular * is.

15. Contact America Coming Together
They're paying neighborhood canvassers, but they're also training and working with people who want to volunteer. If you live in the Cincinnati area, e-mail me a mailroom@progressivecincinnati.org and I'll help you get hooked up.

Otherwise, check out www.act4victory.org

14. GO BUCKEYES!
If the working people awaken to a glimmer of the truth, Bush is going DOWN.

It's all becoming too painfully clear.

18. Right, win Ohio, win the Presidency; confused about PA though
If Kerry is looking strong in Ohio, I can't understand Bush is polling ahead of Kerry in neighboring PA (where I live). PA has always been more Dem, liberal, and blue collar than Ohio.

If Kerry wins Ohio and loses Pa this election will be more screwy than 2000.
