Rep. Grayson: Republicans want tax cuts for the rich because ‘they want a tax cut for themselves’
Source: florida independent

Despite losing his seat on Nov. 2, Rep. Alan Grayson, D-Orlando, isn’t biting his tongue in his final days as a congressman, yesterday attacking Republican legislators and conservative pundits fighting to extend the Bush tax cuts for America’s top earners.

“They want a tax cut for the rich because they want a tax cut for themselves,” he said on the House floor, calling right-wing commentators Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Bill O’Reilly, Sarah Palin and Newt Gingrich and former President George W. Bush “the people who are really in charge, the ones who actually run the Republican party” and showing how much they (multimillionaires all) stand to gain from extending the Bush tax cuts. (Video after the jump.)

“We’ve heard endless braying from the Republicans time after time demanding an extension of tax cuts for the rich in this country,” Grayson said, continuing:

They tell us that extending the tax cuts for the rich will somehow create jobs, when we’ve had these tax cuts for the rich for nine years, and I haven’t noticed a whole lot of jobs being created in the last nine years. They tell us it will dramatically boost the economy. Well, I haven’t noticed that happening for the last nine years either. So you really have to wonder why it is they persist in this mania, this obsession of theirs, that we need to have more tax cuts for the rich when the economy is flat on its back, and unemployment is almost 10 percent. I think I have the answer. The answer turns out to be very simple. They want a tax cut for the rich because they want a tax cut for themselves.

6.  WHY???? is it that no other Dem reps
talk like this??? Sure - there's Kucinich and Weiner, but how many others are there that get up and hold a billowing blow torch to the Right's ass??? For the most part, we've got cold, inspirationless pablum on our side.

Middle Class kid - waiting for the tax cuts to kick in.

He should run for the senate against Brown. We need him back in Washington.

It would be nice to have a real Democrat in the WH.
