New Debt Ceiling Part of Tax Talks
Source: The Wall Street Journal

WASHINGTON—An increase to the federal government's borrowing limit is being considered in talks on extending the Bush-era tax cuts, people familiar with the situation said Friday. They warned, however, that the issue could be too politically toxic to be part of a final deal.

2. too politically toxic???
To the Republican - did you all fail Math? If they want the tax cuts for the rich extended it will add to the deficit.

I realize the debt ceiling would need to be raised with or without the extensions... but what in the hell is the Republican plan B?

Everyone in DC knows that it has to be increased no matter what!!! Whoever is patting himself on the back for thinking they got something good out of this deal should be fired.

5. This is so fucking ridiculous.
This is not incompetence we are seeing: it is a systematic program to strip away the last remnants of the New Deal. As they say, only Nixon could go to China...
