Korea tension may go out of control, Chinese President Hu tells Obama
Source: Reuters

Chinese President Hu Jintao warned U.S. President Barack Obama on Monday that Korean tensions risk spiraling out of control as the U.S., Japanese and South Korean foreign ministers met to discuss how to deal with North Korea's shelling of the South two weeks ago.

Analysts said Hu's comments showed greater urgency over the mounting tension and an attempt to avoid the perception Beijing is siding with its ally Pyongyang against the United States, Japan and South Korea.

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was meeting her counterparts from Seoul and Tokyo in a series of meetings in Washington on Monday to discuss the North Korea situation.

The White House said Obama, in a telephone call with Hu, urged Beijing to work with the United States and others to "send a clear message to North Korea that its provocations are unacceptable".

1. Too bad we're stretched thin and the top 2% are going to get their
tax breaks back. Sorry, so few troops and so little money to pay for another war.

4. china does`t want a war for at least three reasons...
a united korea and they don`t want the north koreans in streaming into china.most important is the red army can do nothing to stop the us fleet off the coast of korea.

it`s up to china to reign in their north korean friend.
