Germany doubles care fund for Holocaust survivors
Source: BBC

The German government has agreed to double to 110m euros (£93m, $147m) its annual funding for home care for survivors of the Holocaust. The change takes into account "the sharply increased need for home care", Germany's finance ministry says. The money paid by the German government to Holocaust survivors is distributed to 32 countries by the New York-based Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany.

"Germany has been exemplary in facing its past, and the government has demonstrated its commitment to alleviating the plight of elderly victims who need the care that these funds will provide," the organisation said in a statement.

Once the increase in German funding is ratified by parliament, the money will go towards in-home nursing as well as help with eating, dressing and bathing.

2. oh, please
You chastise them for INCREASING funds?! It's not as if there were no funds before. What about what your own country is doing for those it has harmed in the past?

3. Any comparison between the evils you believe our country
has inflicted on others pales in comparison to what the Germans did in the Holocaust. And yes, he did chastise them for not increasing funds when it would have helped a great many more survivors than it will now. Timing is just as essential as the act of at least making some small gesture to try and compensate these people for what they suffered at the hands of the Germans.

The holocaust survivors never received restitution either and never will; 60 years later - give ME A BREAK! How many are left?

As for the Indian people in America, another tragedy. Restitution is never given to those that deserve to receive it the most.

Anyone that has not figured this out is  ...

:dem:

7. When you can show me proof that our government rounded up
millions of native americans and/or slaves in concentration camps with the sole purpose of executing them, please post it.

8. There was no need for a special camp.
All of North America was the natives' concentration camp.
