Clinton to meet with Obama Friday
Source: UPI

WASHINGTON, Dec. 10 (UPI) -- Former president Bill Clinton will meet with President Obama at the White House Friday but the nature of the visit wasn't disclosed, officials said.

Obama is facing strong criticism from within the Democratic party for agreeing to continue Bush administration tax cuts as a means to extend unemployment benefits to millions of Americans, The Washington Post reported.

Clinton hasn't spoken publicly about the tax-cut deal Obama reached with congressional Republicans to extend the current tax rates for two years, but the former president faced similar problems with the GOP, the report said.

Clinton is popular with Democrats and his support of the tax-cut agreement could help Obama persuade them to support it.

7. Bull crap

I'm so sick of revisionist who weren't even adults at the time saying Clinton was so conservative. He DID raise taxes on the rich by playing hardball, he got an increase in the minimum wage and FMLA - what has Obama done for the working people - jack crap. Obama can't even get a bill passed, that 80% of the country favors, raising taxes on the top 2% because he only cares about playing nice with the Repugs and DINOs. Don't remember Clinton whining all the time about the "professional left".

Yes, he's not without blemish, not vetoing the overturn of Glass-Stegall was a HUGE mistake. Otherwise, Obama can't touch him on having policies that help the middle class and help our economy. Obama thinks the rich are the economy, he's so out of touch.

5. Clinton has been there, done that, and survived.
He can offer Obama a few tips. Whether Obama wants to listen or not is another question.

But better Clinton than some professional Republican hack-for-hire.

8. Hey Clinton, tell Obama it's time to be a Democrat
and that the Repugs are just playing him and passing the catfood commissions recommendations and gutting social security in favor of the fat cats is a recipe for Democrats becoming a permanent minority party. It will also tarnish him forever in history and guarantee him one term. Shit, if he passes that, he could be in line for worst president ever.

9. You are forgetting that a lot of our current problems are due
to Clinton's mistakes on the economy. He did a lot of good things, but he also did a lot of bad stuff.

The worst thing he did was to bequeath so many of his economic advisers to Obama. Big mistake.

12. I doubt that. He has been very outspoken against them and has not spoken in support of this
"compromise" AFAIK. He has frequently said it would only benefit people like himself and he doesn't need it.
