J&J recalls 13 Million Packages of Rolaids

Wood and Metal in Rolaids May Cause Vomiting, Dental Injury

Vomiting, gum and tooth injury, and abnormal taste were among the adverse reactions reported. J&J's McNeil Consumer Healthcare business, which sells the products, stated that "risk of serious adverse health consequences is remote," but have nonetheless advised consumers to discontinue use at this time.

The company says the materials were potentially introduced into the products during the manufacturing process at an outside plant but McNeil spokeswoman Bonnie Jacobs declined to provide ABC News with the identity of this third-party manufacturer.

causes:
dirty warehouses contaminating products, extra particles in products, ingredients not as stated, sloppy manufacturing

Globalization at its finest.

2. this company had a great reputation at one time....what a pity the

5. They have had several recalls over the years.
Relative to other companies J&J are pretty reliable but they aren't perfect.

6. I used to tangle with J&J
many years ago in their headquarters city of New Brunswick, NJ. Trust me, they are an evil company. I see these recalls as their bad karma coming back to them.

7. When doing the original google search I saw Mexican plants mentioned often

They don't do much, if any, manufacturing in the US.
