Gravity has won....A few of his cranial stones/rocks have migrated south.

1. He has medical insurance
I wonder if it even crosses his mind that many fellow Americans could not have that surgery because they lack insurance or lack the cash to pay deductibles and co-pays required by insurers.

3. most people end up toughing this out
They give you a script for some pain killers and say farewell to you. Surgery? Only if it is critical/life threatening I suspect.

Must be nice having great insurance that pays for everything while others suffer.

Get well soon ...

12. If it's too large to pass, they'll use sound waves to break it up.

Now, that being said, passing those shards hurts MUCH more than just passing a single stone.

I'm sitting here right now with a 6+ millimeter one in my right kidney and I *DREAD* the day it goes on the move. They said they won't do anything with it until it causes unbearable pain or complications - like blocking the ureter.
I've had them before and given the choice, I'd give birth to another baby without anesthetic rather than have another stone. I would think it would be 100-fold worse for a guy.

So yes, if you're that kinda person, you can take comfort in the fact that he's in pain or doped up enough that he just doesn't care about the pain. I wouldn't wish it on anybody.

24. Some have to be removed surgically if they don't pass
I had a stone removed from the lower pole of my left kidney. It was believed to be the nidus of my recurring infections, and was the type of stone that could have become a 'stag horn' which can be quite dangerous. The surgery, while simple, is invasive and EXTREMELY PAINFUL.

8. WOW! There are truly some sick folks rolling around here...
Wishing pain & suffering on another human being just because you do not agree on certain political and/or philosophical issues? Seriously? And these people call themselves "progressives"...I swear DU has become the twilight zone!

I wonder how many Republicans are here making these comments? It just breaks my heart to know folks can be so cruel over poltics...Do we really want to look like heartless right wing knuckle draggers? Because from the comments I have seen here lately on DU it seems that is what we are turning into.

16. I wonder how many kids won't eat tonight because of this asshole.

I wonder about why he helped shovel hard-earned taxpayer money into the largest banks, to GE, to McDonald's, to foreign governments and investors instead of to families from being kicked to the curb from their homes, or keep teachers, police, firefighters, to fix sewer or water pipes that would have prevented disease...

I wonder about the pain that was in a mother or father's eyes when they came home and told the family that the job they depended on was gone because Geithner and the Bernank had chosen to support the greedy and wealthy, leaving them 99 weeks of unemployment while the government was giving 70 billion dollars a year to the most wealthy of our country as tax breaks instead of using it for a jobs program or to rebuild manufacturing.

I wonder about some things as well. As far as looking like "heartless, right-wing knuckledraggers", the president we voted for nominated and fought for Geithner to get into the position from which he could support the reckless, criminal, and treasonous behavior of our largest investment banks.

We don't have to look "like" anything. What we are is bad enough.

28. Good thing Timmeh never inflicted actual pain and suffering on millions, as opposed to a mere
message board post that does Timmeh (or anyone) any real harm.

"It just breaks my heart to know folks can be so cruel over poltics..."

Posts at DU really hurt Timmeh a lot. :eyes:

Since the 1980s, lasers have been used in the treatment of painful kidney stones. Lasers are used when kidney stones fail to pass through the body after several days, it provides a quick and low-pain way to break up the stone and allow the stones to be easily passed through the body.

# A lithotripsy (lith-oh-trip-see) procedure is any approach that uses an instrument to break kidney stones into smaller parts. For the laser approach, a physician inserts a optical fiber often no bigger than a hair into the patients' ureter, drawing the fiber upward until it reaches the kidney stones. The laser is activated, and the energy burst causes the stone to break apart while leaving the ureter's tissue unharmed.
Expelling the Stones
# Once the stones burst, the remaining pieces are passed through the ureter and expelled in the urine. A physician also may opt to insert a catheter that removes the pieces immediately following the laser procedure.

contrary to US, his ACTIONS HURT millions of people that have the bad luck of having to live below the poverty line.

Well deserved harsh words will never physically hurt that criminal a-hole, but his crimes destroyed many lives already.

I guess you don't know about any of his (covered-up) crimes?

our grandkids.

I don't wish pain on anyone, nor am I responsible for Timmeh's pain, but I'm not all broken up, either.

Plenty of folks who never hurt the country get kidney stones and far worse. And without health insurance, either.
