WH Vetting Could Delay 9/11 Report Until After Election
WASHINGTON (AFP) - The chairman of an independent commission looking into US counterterrorism activities prior to the September 11 attacks said he could not guarantee that the panel's report will be released before the November presidential election because of a protracted White House vetting process.

3. The report will NOT see the light of day before election then...
unless pressure from the 9/11 families, the print press, and opinion polling, forces WH release --

4. And demands to release promptly will be met with this:
"You're not suggesting President Bush KNEW about the attacks and did NOTHING? You're not a CONSPIRACY THEORIST, are you?"

To which, many will reply meekly "No, of course not. But, uh..."

30. No! No! I fully believe the quite plausible gov. manufactured theory
that it was conceived and entirely pulled off by a man on dialysis from a cave in Afganistan...despite knowing that the vast benefit was to the Bush Crime Family. I pledge allegiance to the "Muslim's did it" conspiracy theory, no matter how ludicrous, under God...

5. This Will Backfire on them Big time if they do it...
I just read this morning that with all of the 9/11 commission controversy people are more and more thinking the WH is hiding something. The 9/11 families will not keep silent about this.
Oh no, expect their voices to reach a crescendo by late October if shrubby* is still stonewalling. Go ahead dumbass* hold the report!

18. They wouldn't be hiding anything..
would they?! These pukes should be brought up on treason charges. They've committed mass murder, grand theft, and a bunch of other things! Then the pukeass sneered when a reporter addressed him as Sir, didn't say Mr President!! He's got balls, big brass ones-not! Wonder what the twins think about their daddy? I'd be friggin ashamed if I were them! And they're supposed to go out on the campaign trail!

13. I'm shocked, SHOCKED, I tell you
Unbelievable.

At the same time, I'll see you and raise you. How many pages of that report do you believe will be redacted due to "national security concerns"?

It's time for the Jersey Girls to speak up again. Somehow, I don't think that they'll take this one quietly, either.

because the administration would have to face leak after leak after leak which would make it look like they were covering something up.

22. some caller on the Randi Rhodes show
said that the way to get around this secrecy and redacting was for a friendly senator or representative to read the report on the floor in the congress. It would then become a record for all to see, and not subjected to redaction by the Bushes.

Of course, it would take a very very brave congressperson to do this

Are there any?

RR said she was not sure that is solution and would look into it.

31. If that happened
I'm sure that the Republicans would suspend parliamentary procedure and physically throw that person out of the building (and probably straight into a jail cell).

It would be so much easier to just anonymously leak the entire document.

25. Me either...but when Bush is voted OUT on Nov 4, ...
...we can be assured that he can still be held accountable. The report gets released when Kerry & the dems are in office, and Asshcroft & Bush's protectors are no longer there to cover his butt.

He will not be in office to "pardon" anyone, and Bush's nightmare of accountability meets raeality.

Criminal prosecution can be carried on easier with Bush and his nasty nest out of the White House.

Either way Bush & co. are done.

same time he can review some of the damaging public testimony...who needs the report. It may actually be to our advantage if Kerry uses this delay right..
