Planned Parenthood affiliates sign contract for merger
Source: Dubuque Telegraph Herald

Planned Parenthood of the Heartland and Planned Parenthood of East Central Iowa have signed a management contract with intent to merge into one affiliate in January.

The expanded organization will be named Planned Parenthood of the Heartland.

"Every year, we have done more and more collaborative work with Planned Parenthood of the Heartland," said Vanessa Solesbee, Planned Parenthood of East Central Iowa board chair. "We have reached the point where it makes more sense for the expansion of services to begin with the merger discussion. During these economic times of great need, we want to continue to make more services available to our clients. This is an exciting growth opportunity for us both."

Jill June, the president and CEO of Planned Parenthood of the Heartland, will be the president and CEO of the newly merged organization. The joint administrative office will remain in Des Moines.

1. Ours did that as well this year
With PP of the Mississippi Delta (MS and LA) merging with that of Southeast Texas to form PP of the Gulf Coast. I know that it'll mean a bump in funding for the LA and MS efforts.

2. May they grow and prosper.
Idiots on the right have no idea that this organization is about more than just about abortion. I have met some very caring individuals who worked for them during our own family planning. They showed a tremendous amount of love and respect for individuals, families, marriages, and children. I hope they remain a strong organization and that they never lose their integrity.
